This F2P Runescape money making guide will show you how to make money through combat. Note that making money by combat gives you a risk of death.
Cows/Cow calves
Combat Lvl: 2
Lifepoints: 80 (Cows), 60 (Cow calves)
Maxhit: 10 (melee)
Recommended Lvl: 3+
Cows are a good money maker for lower-leveled players who want to earn some decent cash. They drop raw beef, bones and cowhide which sell for good prices on the GE. Cows and cow claves can be found at the Lumbridge eastern farms, the cow field in northen Lumbridge, the farm south of Falador and the Crafting Guild. You don't need Level 40 crafting to access the cow field there.
Wizards
Combat Lvl: 9
Lifepoints: 140
Maxhit: 40 (magic)
Recommended Lvl: 20+
Wizards will uncommonly drop their blue wizard robes which sells for a thousand coins, and various runes up to laws. Slashing attacks or ranged attacks will work well against them, but try not to wear any metal armour as they give negative magic defence bonuses. Wizards can be found at the Wizards tower, located just south of Draynor village.
Cockroach Drones
Combat Lvl: 8
Lifepoints: 110
Maxhit: 20 (melee)
Recommended Lvl: 20+
These small monsters have been known to drop items worth more than 200gp, and even rarely, uncut gems. Combat levels over 20 are recommended when fighting them. Cockroach drones reside at the Stronghold of Player Safety, which is located just south of Edgeville. You must have done the Player Safety Test Minigame there to be able to access this area. Take note that getting a full inventory of drops will take some time, maybe even an hour.
Hill Giants
Combat Lvl: 28
Lifepoints: 350
Maxhit: 40 (melee)
Recommended Lvl: 40+
Training on Hill Giants in the Edgeville dungeon is a very popular money making method, as their big bones will sell for over 400gp. They will occasionally drop limpwut roots which sell for 1240gp, and uncut gems up to diamond. They have low defence, so killing them souldn't be to hard. Bear in mind that Hill Giants are commonly killed by other players, so finding a less populated world will be quite hard.
Moss Giants
Combat Lvl: 42, 48 (members), 84 (members)
Lifepoints: 600 (Lvl 42), 850 (Lvl 48), 1200 (Lvl 84)
Maxhit: 60 (Lvl 42 and 48), 140 (Lvl 84) (melee for all types)
Recommended Lvl: 50+ (for fighting the lvl 42's)
This is a great way to make money for mid-leveled non-members, Moss Giants have several good drops such as lots of runes, black armour, iron/steel arrows, steel bars and uncut gems. They will also have a 100% chance of dropping big bones, which are recommended to bury them as Moss Giants have lots of unstackable drops. They can be found at the end of the multiway combat Varrock Sewers, so players below combat level 69 should be aware of Deadly Red Spiders that patrol the area. Do take note that 2 Moss Giants will be able to attack you once, and will become tolerant after some time. If you prefer to fight in a single-way combat zone, Crandor is a popular spot to kill Moss Giants (after Dragon Slayer).
Cockroach Soldiers
Combat Lvl: 83
Lifepoints: 960
Maxhit 80 (melee) and 110 (ranged)
Recommended Lvl: 80+
Cockroach Soldiers can be killed in the Stronghold of Player Safety or the Wilderness Volcano for the valuable items they drop, such as runes, rune armour, uncut gems and high level ores up to runite. However, Cockroach Soldiers have high defence, lots of hitpoints, hit as fast as a scimitar and their attacks are fairly accurate. Note that if you try to run away, they will use their ranged attack which is much more accurate and hits harder.
Ankous
Combat Lvl: 75, 82, 86
Lifepoints: 600 (Lvl 75), 650 (Lvl 82), 700 (Lvl 86)
Maxhit: 80 (melee)
Recmmonded Lvl: 85+
In the fourth level of the Stronghold of Sercurity, players can fight Ankous for their many stackable items such as adamant arrows, law runes, noted mithril ore and noted rune essence. This is a great way for making money for non-members, as their drops can fetch up to a few ten thousands of gp in a trip.
Greater Demons
Combat Lvl: 92
Lifepoints: 87
Maxhit: 9
Recommended Lvl: 95
You can find Greater Demons in the Wilderness Volcano and the Demonic Ruins. It is highly recommended to use the volcano, as there is a bank just outside to restock on supplies and to bank your drops. Greater Demons are a target to making good money for high leveled players, as their drops include runes, better rune items than Cockroach Soldiers, uncut gems and occasionally a tuna for some free 10hp heal. Take note that they hit fairly accurate and hard, even through players with high defence. Since they are demons, the power of Silverlight works against them as if it was a rune longsword. However, it is not recommended as it still uses its low accuracy. Greater Demons are susceptible to magic attacks. Do be very careful when venturing into their homes, as they are located in the dreaded Wilderness. Beware of revenants along the way.
